Silicosis is a lung disease caused by breathing in dust that contains silica (tiny crystals found in sand, rock, or mineral ores like quartz).

Over time, silica can build up in your lungs and breathing passages. This leads to scarring that makes it hard to breathe, reducing quality of live to affected individuals. Silicosis is often caused due to occupational risk exposures in industries like mining, manufacturing and construction. Regular health assessments can help mitigate risks and improve occupational healthcare to employees.

LTE Medical Solutions recently deployed mobile clinics in Lesotho (with X-Ray and Spirometry) to assist healthcare providers with silicosis case finding.
